How connecting works

Connected in three steps

You need an HTTPS store and permalinks set to anything but Plain.

  1. 1

    Install the plugin

Add MarketplaceHub for WooCommerce from Plugins in your WordPress admin and activate it. It is free, and it does only what the store's own API cannot: connecting, change notices and tracking for your buyers.

  2. 2

    Approve MarketplaceHub

Choose Connect to MarketplaceHub on the plugin's page, or type your store's address in MarketplaceHub. Your store asks you to approve an API key. We never see your WordPress password.

  3. 3

    Import, publish and sync

Bring your products in, publish them to the marketplaces you sell on, and choose which side leads price and stock. Orders start arriving on their own.

Source and sales channel

WooCommerce works in both directions

Your store can be where your products come from, and a channel your catalog is published to.

WooCommerce as a source

Import
  • Import your catalog. Products and variations come in with their SKUs, prices, stock and pictures. No CSV export.
  • Categories matched by AI. Each product is matched to the right category on the marketplace you publish to, so it is not refused for a missing detail.

WooCommerce as a sales channel

Publish
  • Sell in your store too. Publish products from your catalog, filed under your store's own categories, and keep their price and stock updated.
  • Only when you choose. Your store is written to only when you publish to it, or send price and stock to it.

Your store, your control

Access you can take back at any time

You approve one API key in your own store. Delete it there, or disconnect, and our access ends.

No password shared

WooCommerce asks you to approve MarketplaceHub, and makes a key for it. We keep the key encrypted and never see your WordPress password.

Connected · Key approved in your store

Disconnect deletes the key

Disconnect on the plugin's page or in MarketplaceHub, and the plugin deletes our key in your store. Your products and orders stay as they are.

Disconnected · Key deleted, store unchanged

A copy stays silent

A staging copy of your store has a new address, so the plugin there sends us nothing and asks what it is. Your real store is not affected.

Copy · Sends nothing until you say what it is

A block is named

If a security plugin or your host's firewall blocks us, your store stays connected and you are told what to allow.

Needs you · Your store blocked MarketplaceHub

Questions about connecting WooCommerce

What your store needs, what changes in it, and what happens when you disconnect.

Still wondering?

Our team replies within a few hours, Mon–Fri.

What does my store need?

WordPress 7.0 or later, WooCommerce 11.0 or later and PHP 7.4 or later, served over HTTPS, with permalinks set to anything but Plain. Then install the free MarketplaceHub for WooCommerce plugin from Plugins in your WordPress admin.

Is it safe to connect my store?

Yes. Your store asks you to approve an API key for MarketplaceHub, and you can delete it in WooCommerce at any time. We keep the key encrypted and never see your WordPress password.

Will connecting change anything in my store?

Not on its own. Importing only reads your products. Your store is written to when you publish products to it, send price and stock to it, or ship, cancel or refund one of its orders.

How quickly do changes in my store reach MarketplaceHub?

The plugin tells us within minutes when a product, its stock, a category or an order changes. WordPress runs the plugin's tasks when someone visits your store, so a very quiet store can take a little longer. A regular check runs underneath, so nothing is missed.

My host or a security plugin blocks MarketplaceHub. What do I allow?

Allow requests whose user agent is MarketplaceHub/1.0 (+https://marketplacehub.com), or the paths /wp-json/wc/v3/ and /wp-json/wc-marketplacehub/v1/. Your store's key still protects them. Your store stays connected while it is blocked, and MarketplaceHub tells you when it happens.

What happens if I disconnect or delete the plugin?

The plugin deletes our key in your store and we stop working with it. Your products and orders stay as they are, in your store and in MarketplaceHub, so connecting again picks up where you left off.
