Connecting is an OAuth consent between your eBay account and MarketplaceHub. You approve a named set of permissions on eBay's own screen, and you can withdraw them from Seller Hub whenever you like.
An eBay seller account you can sign in to. A Business account isn't strictly required, but it's what gets the most from bulk listing and inventory features — and it's what most sellers running more than a handful of listings are on anyway.
If you sell on more than one eBay site, each account is authorised separately and they're managed together afterwards, with listings, stock and orders kept apart per store.

Pick eBay as a channel and we send you to eBay's own sign-in. The request is signed, so the page you land on can be trusted to be ours.
eBay lists what the app is asking for before you agree. Approving returns a scoped token — your eBay password is never involved and never reaches us.
The store appears in your dashboard and its category and item-specifics data begins importing, ready for the listing stage.

Issuing a refund is a separate permission on eBay's side from fulfilment, and it's asked for so refunds can be raised from the same order screen.
If eBay starts refusing our calls — usually a withdrawn or expired consent — the connection is flagged in your dashboard and you're notified, rather than syncs failing quietly.
Re-authorising runs the same consent flow and restores the existing connection. Your listings, policies and history stay exactly as they were.
Withdraw access from your eBay account settings at any time, or pause the store in MarketplaceHub if you only want syncing to stop for a while.
